"Idea Management is the essence of Innovation"
Herman Singh - Group Executive Innovation Strategy at MTN
"Idea Management is not something that in of itself lives independently, it is embedded into something else, into an innovation process. One step of the innovation process is idea management. Maybe it is the front-end of the process. So what you want to do is implement an innovation process and to make the innovation process work it needs ideas. In the past idea management processes lived on their own and the reason that they failed is that you just had this idea management process hanging out there and no way of taking it forward – just like a suggestion box of the old days."
Jannie van Zyl - Executive Head: Innovation at Vodacom
"Treat humans like humans and everyone with respect. Sometimes people don’t quite understand their idea fully, so once an idea is submitted, someone will sit with them or call them and explore their idea in detail."
